Things Undone.

I’ve been told that it’s a strange name for a business.  “Where did the name come from? What does it mean?”

Well, the name for Things Undone has its roots in several things.  First, there was the movie “The First $20 Million is Always the Hardest.” As a geek and nerd, there were so many things to love about that movie. But, there was a line in it that went something like: “Anyone can do something that can be done.”  But it takes a special kind of person to do something that hasn’t been done.  I aspire to be that kind of person.

Second, going back a little further was a line from Star Trek: The Next Generation.  Jean-Luc Picard says “Things are only impossible until they’re not!”  Again, the idea or concept of impossibility is just a barrier to doing things that haven’t been before.

Finally, Nelson Mandela once said, “It always seems impossible until it’s done.”mandela-impossible

And ultimately that is what we focus on – possibility.  It is the things that haven’t been done that draw us in like a puzzle cube from Hellraiser.

“Impossible” is just another way of saying…

Things Undone.

Until next time!

Derek
